Buying Used CNC Routers Offers Several Benefits

When woodworking companies need a device that will drill, trim, cut, or carve materials, they will look to purchase a computer numerically controlled (CNC) router. A CNC router allows organizations to increase accuracy and speed because the organization can use a CAD/CAM program to design the piece that needs to be cut. With this design, the router will automatically cut the device quicker than an individual could make the cut manually. These woodworking machines perform with consistency and increase organizational productivity while still adhering to strict quality standards. However, these woodworking machines have a large price tag, so businesses are always looking for ways to acquire these devices at a lower rate. Many businesses consider purchasing used CNC routers because they can be had for less than half the cost of a new device. These businesses will understandably question whether or not they are getting the most “bang for their buck” by buying used, or whether they are paying thousands of dollars for the former owner’s run down machine. This discussion will review beyond the exorbitant price difference to highlight some of the other benefits of buying used CNC routers rather than new ones.

Ideal used woodworking machines are late model devices with low hours. The reason the device should be a late model is that the software and controllers might not need to be replaced. An older system will probably need to have software and controllers replaced to get the machine similar to machines already in use, though a stand-alone device does not have to be brought up to speed as long as it can still cut. Additionally, a device purchased in refurbished condition will likely have already had its software and controllers replaced. This means the device will be usable in less time, and the purchaser will spend less on the machine after making the initial investment. The reason low hours are a priority when looking for used CNC routers is because these devices only have a limited number of hours they can be used before they break down. A device that has not been used for many hours will therefore meet the business owner’s needs for many years to come.  Sellers of used CNC routers will replace worn parts and perform needed maintenance before listing the machine for sale, so buyers will be able to use the device for its maximum lifespan.

When purchasing used CNC routers from trusted vendors, companies will also have access to a team of service professionals who can troubleshoot problems with the device when they arise. This provides an extra layer of confidence lacking with new devices, as the woodworking machines might be so new that no support manuals have been written about them. Vendors who refurbish the devices themselves will go one step further and offer a warranty before the purchase.

RT Machine performs all of its refurbishment jobs in-house, meaning customers not only have access to competent service professionals whenever a problem arises, but can also rest easy knowing our warranty for our used CNC routers will protect their investment.
